  • 1.  Hiding Folders Based on Groups

Greetings, this maybe something very simple.

Try to set up a clean set up for V11.1.6 from 10.2 (I know very behind the times).  I want to have folders to be the only thing that is viewable when logging in, however, We have about 15 packages, and we have a folder on the main screen for each one.

    So basically:

    Funds
    Co-funds
    Investment Reporting
    Ledger
    Data Management
    etc.

I want to set it up in such a way that when you logon if you are only  a member of the Funds Group, that is the only folder you will see besides packages and templates.  Just can't seem to find and reasonable to do this.  Because of Auditing requirements, if you are not supposed to use it,  I don't want them to see it, I DO NOT WANT them to see all folders, and if they click on one they get "You don't have Permissions"  I just don't want them to see them at all.

    Any Ideas would be great!

    Cheers

You can create roles and set priority which one to take precedence when user is part of multiple roles. Each Role can be given access only to one folder and can deny permission on other folders.
