Exciting visualization enhancements in the April 2024 (12.0.3) Cognos release

Risk Matrix

The Risk Matrix is a powerful tool, available as a Custom Visualization for visualizing and understanding potential risks in the business. Presented in a 4x4 grid, it assesses the likelihood and impact consequences of incidents on a scale from "low" to "very high." For instance, a cybersecurity breach might have a "very high" likelihood and "high" impact, guiding proactive risk management strategies.

Visualization Legend Enhancement

For dashboard users, it is now easier to interpret the charts below with added value legends. These legends provide clear insights into the represented data, enhancing your dashboard experience.

  • Bar Chart
  • Area-Line
  • Dual-Line
  • Composite
  • Bullet
  • Bubble
  • Pie/Donut

Crosstab & Table Titles Customization

Dashboard users can now rename column headers in table and crosstab visualizations by right clicking on the column header to be modified and select "customize label".

We would love to hear from you. Share your Cognos Analytics experience on Gartner Peer Insights and help us shape the product that empowers you to enable analytics with confidence!

Thank you, Patrick, for your feedback. We will update the blog with the correct link.

And to answer your last question, it's completely safe to use risk matrix visualisation, and once you add it to any of your dashboard or report, it will behave exactly like out-of-the-box viz.

Hi,

It is quite strange that this new risk matrix visualization is listed as a custom visualization in the product documentation.

In the documentation, we can get it on GitHub with other custom visualization samples: https://github.com/IBM/ca_customvis/tree/master/code-samples/11.1.x

(The correct link should be https://github.com/IBM/ca_customvis/tree/master/visualization-samples/11.1.x/riskmatrix

In this blog (thank your for this article), there is a link to Accelerator Catalog

Is it safe to assume this Risk Matrix visualization is not supported because it comes from Accelerator Catalog?
