As a user of IBM Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions, you understand that the cost of failed transfers and data breaches can drastically impact a company’s bottom line and reputation. We want to make sure you are aware of the latest capabilities we are launching this month, so you can take full advantage of this vital technology.

Studies show that 88% of organizations are challenged to move big data quickly and efficiently – and the average cost per lost or stolen record is $141. IBM started tackling this challenge decades ago with solutions that enable simple, secure and scalable file-based transactions. Today, thanks to clients like you, our battle-tested platform has the greatest share of the managed file transfer market according to multiple, leading analyst firms. But we never rest on our laurels. We recognize that you face increasing pressures to reliably and quickly transfer mounting volumes of data from and to different sources, at faster rates, under tightening security and regulatory standards, with the same or fewer resources.

We’ve listened and continue to innovate and invest in our solutions with a series of new capabilities in the IBM MFT suite. Available to current clients as upgrades, these new capabilities make it even easier for you to accommodate hyper-growth in file sizes, volumes of connections and time-sensitive data.

“Our suite of IBM Watson Supply Chain solutions enables us to meet practically any of our clients’ requirements around file transfer protocols and encryption standards,” says Ove Kolstad, Technical Lead Manager for Managed File Transfer, Nets. “We have been using IBM Connect:Direct for more than 30 years, and it continues to be an extremely reliable solution.”

Carsten van den Bogert, Middleware Specialist, Rabobank adds, “Today, we are transferring, on average, around 18,000 EDI messages and 300,000 Connect:Direct files per day on the IBM platform—and we are confident that the system will provide us with sufficient capacity to serve our needs for at least the next three years without scaling up.”

Our new releases of Connect:Direct 6.0 ( available Dec. 7) and Control Center 6.1.2 (available Dec. 14) will modernize the MFT suite with a fresh, web-based user experience and further integration to third-party applications with RESTful APIs – all built for cloud deployments. The solutions will help:

  • Secure files at rest and in transit to comply with regulations and protect the client’s business.
  • Proactively mitigate risk by helping our clients begin their journey from operational intelligence toward Augmented Intelligence.
  • Foster user engagement and confidence by driving out complexity.
