I am a PhD researcher working on an academic article involving optimization algorithms.

During the development phase, I have been using my academic license of IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio. However, I now need to run the final computational experiments on a university High Performance Computing cluster.

The executable I need to run depends on IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio 22.1.1. The experiments are exclusively for academic, non-commercial research purposes. Could you please let me know how I should manage the license in this case?

In particular, I would like to know whether my current academic license can be used on an HPC cluster, or whether I need to request a specific academic floating/network license for this environment.

Hello,

your academic license is ok as long as the use is educational and not commercial.

An academic CPLEX license is suitable for HPC experiments in educational and research settings, provided you follow the license terms. Ensure the software is installed correctly across compute nodes, verify cluster compatibility, and confirm that your institution's license permits distributed or parallel computing workloads.
