    Hi All, 

    We are setting up IBM API Connect in our organization has few questions to  clarify : 

    1 . As per the standard , do we expose developer portal test environment over the internet or production environment ? Like I saw CitiBank Dev portal or Royal Mail , so is it their production environments .

    2. Is there any company where monetization has got implemented, i would like to know how does it look like.

    3. Do we have out of the box feature available in API connect to integrate with billing system , if not what is the way around.

    Hi Sampath, here some answers to your questions:

    Q1 . As per the standard , do we expose developer portal test environment over the internet or production environment ? Like I saw CitiBank Dev portal or Royal Mail , so is it their production environments . [PB] this depends on your internal security guidelines. We have customers which have a separate test/sandbox for external TPPs but we also have some which connects them to production.

    2. Is there any company where monetization has got implemented, i would like to know how does it look like. [PB] there is a good Blog on Monetization here https://developer.ibm.com/apiconnect/2017/10/17/api-monetization-really-mean/

    I know customers which use monetization for internal chargeback but none of the customers I know (regardless which API Management Vendor they use) do direct monetization to subscribe to an API. This would prevent the adoption of API Economy in the beginning.

    3. Do we have out of the box feature available in API connect to integrate with billing system: [PB] The API Connect monetization capability is available as a technology preview in API Connect Version 10. This preview feature allow API Providers to synchronize system data with external billing systems. These features can be used through CLI commands such as:
    apic billing
    apic jobs
    apic configured_billing
    apic payment_method
