API Connect v10.0.5.1 Long Term Support Enhancements

Now that fall is just about to start we want to announce the availability of the first fixpack for API Connect v10.0.5. Since the release of v10.05, announced in June, we have been getting great feedback from earlier adopters. Many customers have been patiently waiting this first fixpack that adds many enhancements including deployment on VMWare and DataPower X2 support to compliment already supported DataPower X3 and Container Deployments.

We have also formerly announced the End of Support of v10.0.1 for September 30, 2023 with v10.0.5 as the replacement. So now is a great time to start planning for your upgrade and kicking the tires of v10.0.5 in your lower environments. If you are still on v2018, which goes End of Support April 2023, it would be best to consider upgrading to v10.0.5 for the longest support duration.

  1. Support for API Connect Deployed in VMware - With API Connect 10.0.5.1 we bring support for deployment of the Manager, Analytics, and Portal as Virtual Appliances run on VMWare
  2. Added support for DataPower X2 & VMware -  Support of the following DataPower form-factors on when running firmware 10.5.0.1: IDG X2 (8441), VMware added to existing 10.0.5 support for IDG X3 (8496) and Containers.  DataPower 10.5 in RPM for RHEL is not yet supported, stayed tuned.  We will share once DataPower makes that available.  
  3. Upgrade from API Connect version 2018.4.1.20 to version 10.0.5.1 - With API Connect v2018 End of Support in April 2023 you can follow a guided process to upgrade to our latest LTS release. Specific instructions based on your current v2018 deployment on Kubernetes, OpenShift, or VMware. 
  4. Enhanced Installation Documentation - We have listened to your feedback and reorganized the installation documentation to make it a more sequential flow and streamline the content presented to the reader.  Deploying on Kubernetes, Deploying on OpenShift and Cloud Pak for Integration and Deploying on VMWare
