  • 1.  WO upload with Classification attributes from single row

    Posted Thu June 04, 2020 12:59 PM
Is it possible to do data loading to create new WOs with classification attribute values from single row as opposed to the default setting of one row per attribute?

    WONUM, SITEID, CLASSSTRUCTUREID,ASSETATTRID,NUMVALUE
    1001,SAS,5094,LENGTH,3
    1001,SAS,5094,BREADTH,5

    replace that with

    WONUM, SITEID, CLASSSTRUCTUREID,LENGTH,BREADTH
    1001,SAS,5094,3,5

    Hi,

As far as I know you can not do that via Maximo MIF or any other out-of-the box function.
We've developed a Data Management Tool over time which is able to import classification attributes in every Maximo Application. The concept is using Excel's different Worksheets for different classifications: https://eamswiss.sharepoint.com/:b:/g/EAM-CH/ERrlOPUvfSNLow1WTJBVptkBDtodX9CveLBVhpdtLX3fRA?e=BJc4Fi
If you or someone else in the group is interested I can share sample Excel templates.

    cheers
    Johann

You can't both set the classification *and* set the attributes on one line without doing some coding. You could have relationships to specific spec attributes in an Object Structure and use that structure to set multiple specs from one line, but you would already have had to create the WO and set the classstructureid.

Johann is correct. With a flat data structure (either IFACE tables or CSV) you have to repeat the parent information each time. If you utilize XML or JSON you can properly reflect the child record (avoiding repeating of the header information) but that's obviously a different integration you have to build.
