Why did we get rid of Line Items in favor of "Expenses"? Expenses creates a very different mindset for finance minded folks and putting Capital Expenditure in there (as well as referring to them as Capital Expenses in the training videos) is un-necessarily confusing. Same with forcing line item manipulation in the "Other" tab...it just seems to indicate that line item manipulation is an afterthought rather than the central process of the system.
Also why can the summary tab allow for quick filtering of All, Capex, and Opex but none of the other tabs do? By merging the Opex and Capex lines in the same view without search or filters (which i think i saw is coming on the roadmap) you can end up with a cost center that has thousands of lines and sorting could be a pain. I can understand the need to sometimes include them in a rollup view (i.e. i have a capex line to acquire something and i want to see the Opex line to handle the maintenance for that same item) but that really needs a grouping element like the often requested Budget Line ID (currently being asked for in 3 different ideas in the Idea list)
Just wondering what the direction was here because in each of these cases it seems like it was better aligned before.
Please stop calling Capital Expenditures Expenses...it just makes Apptio look like it has far less industry knowledge than I think is true.
