Hi geniuses :-) Can anyone help with this question from @Jason Tucker ? He writes... 

I was trying to do a year over year comparison from my forecast from ITPF and I needed to add a column to show me the variance.In columns, I used Years(0,5). When I go under formulas-shortcuts, the variance button is greyed out and Data-Columns, the insert button is greyed out so I can't add a calculation column. And add Comparison Column doesn't make sense to me because it looks like it is set to compare to a different project or source. So, I found some help on this, but the buttons I need are greyed out.

@Jason Tucker can you send a screen shot of the table? You can erase your numbers as looking at the structure of the table will be most helpful. Can you also send a screen shot of the ad hoc query as well as the buttons which you are saying are greyed out?

Thanks. I got some help from my implementation support. They advised removing the timeframe, then inserting a calculation column. Then I went back and added the timeframe and it worked.

Our formulas are grayed out as well, but we don't have a time period to remove.  What else could be causing them to be grayed out?
