Speakers: Andrea Tramontani, Software Developer, CPLEX Optimization Studio, IBM
The presentation will focus on recent MIP performance improvements in CPLEX Optimizer. We will first provide a quick overview of the main components of CPLEX Optimizer along with benchmark results to assess the contribution of each component to the ability to solve MIPs. We will then review the new ingredients that have been added to CPLEX 12.5.1 and CPLEX 12.6.0 and will give detailed benchmark results that demonstrate performance improvements in the recent CPLEX versions. A special emphasis will be placed on improvements obtained with cutting planes, by discussing specifically two of the new components available in CPLEX 12.5.1 and CPLEX 12.6.0:
-
Lift-and-Project cuts, a well known class of MIP inequalities, and
-
The parallel root cut loop task, based on the idea to exploit performance variability in order to obtain better cutting planes and primal feasible solutions at the root node of a branch-and-cut tree.
IBM Decision Optimization Virtual User Group Meetings provide you with updated and useful information about our products and how you can get the best value for your organization from our optimization technology and solutions.
These meetings are being held electronically with presentations by our product management and development subject matter experts. The sessions will run for approximately one hour, with about 45 minutes of presentation material and 15 minutes for open questions and answers. Our goal is to provide a forum for you to:
-
make smarter decisions
-
get your questions answered
-
elicit your feedback on various topics.
We look forward to your participation. Please contact Kitte Knight at kknight@us.ibm.com for an invitation to this Webinar.
