    We're excited to share some important updates about changes coming to the Apptio Planning platform. These updates are part of a broader initiative to enhance long-term performance, scalability, and innovation-ensuring the platform continues to grow with your needs.  

    What's Changing? 

    We're preparing to migrate Apptio Planning to a modernized database infrastructure that will provide a smoother, faster, and more scalable experience for users.   

    This migration will be handled entirely within our regular maintenance windows and will not cause any additional downtime. However, to support this transition, we'll be temporarily adjusting our release cycle. 

    Release 3.92 (scheduled for May 12–16) will be the final feature release on the current platform. After that, we will only issue critical maintenance releases as needed until all customers are fully migrated. 

    Once customers are on Apptio Planning version 5.x - the new major release following the database upgrade- we will resume our regular two-week release cadence, with all new features delivered exclusively on the new platform.  

    Please note that migrations for Gov Cloud customers will take place at a later date. We are currently working through the necessary approval processes and will share a detailed timeline as soon as it becomes available. 

    Key Dates to Know  

    • May 5-9 (Beta Access): A beta program will launch for customers who would like to get early access and provide feedback on the new platform. 

    • May 12-16 (Release 3.92): This will be our final feature release on the current database. After this, only critical maintenance releases will be issued as needed. 

    • June 2-6: Beta customers and Sandbox environments will be migrated to the new database (version 5.x). 

    • July 7-11: Main environments will be migrated to the new database (version 5.x). 

    What to Expect 

    • No action required on your part-migrations will occur automatically on your designated upgrade day. 

    • A faster, more performant experience on the upgraded platform. 

    • Full access to all Planning capabilities will remain unchanged, with no impact to the user interface.

    • New features delivered on a more scalable and modern foundation.
