Hi,

I am running version 12.8 and components version 107 (prerequisites for Map Columns (right?)) but when I go to add the Map Columns as a step in a table it doesn't exists, i.e., it's not shown along side the other steps that can be added.  Is there something that needs to be done beyond having the latest version/component version to get Map Columns to appear as a step?

Hi,

Map columns is supported from 12.7 onward thus you are on the correct version of content and platform to utilize the feature.

Map columns can be added to any data set EXCEPT Master data sets. More information can be found here: Map Columns 

What are you trying to add the map columns to? Do you see it at all when you add a step to the transform pipeline?

Hi Lauren,

Right now I'm just trying to get the Map Columns step to appear at all in any table as an option to select when I add a step... but I'm having no luck with that.  If you are in a master data set would the Map Columns step at least show up but be grey'd out?

I should say I'm fairly new to Apptio so I might be doing/not doing something obvious that's holding me back.

I suggest opening a support ticket. If you are on the correct version and platform it should be there. It should be greyed out if you can not choose it
