SNMP Probe - authtype HMAC-SHA or privtype AES128 not supported, can SHA and AES be used in place?

In respect to the SNMP probe, the client I am working with is using  HMAC-SHA and AES128 authtype and privtype encryption respectively.  The probe log is telling me that one of these are not supported.

I can see from the probe documentation that it calls out MD5, SHA, or SHA256 for the authtype and DES or AES for the privtype.

My thinking is to try replacing HMAC-SHA with SHA and AES128 with AES.

Do you think this will work or do I need to go back to the client and ask hen to change their encryption models?

    Thanks.

Ok, so after some further asking around, and also trying, the HMAC-SHA althtype can be replaced with SHA and the AES128 privtype can be replaced with AES and the probe will start to generate SNMP v3 traps.   I will be testing this,  to look for anything untoward, but am moving with the shortened encryption algorithms.
