Does anyone have experience with deleting unused tables in TBM Studio?  We have north of 200 tables in our environment, and this summer, we went through an exercise of adding a table definition/purpose to all of our tables, as well as flagging tables that are no longer in use or were created but never completed.  There is not a feature that allows us to delete the tables ourselves in TBM Studio, so our solution has been to create a new grouping folder and move the flagged tables into that grouping.  I am assuming Apptio would be able to delete the tables though.  The responsibility of investigating data and configuration issues is shifting to different team members, and having a smaller number of tables to look through will help make it easier to identify where an issue is happening.

You can delete tables, but only one by one, @Matthew Benesh.
Check it out and you'll see a delete button:​

If you have many to delete, it'll take a while. Once you check them in, they'll be gone.

Naturally, you need to ensure that deleting those tables won't create problems down the line (transforms, allocation lines, lookups, etc.)

Unfortunately, Apptio/TBM Studio offer little help, beyond finding what tables relate to the selected one (but not the nature of the relationship).​

One recommendation when deleting tables I would add is to leverage the "Related Tables".  This helps identify any relationships that table has with others.  This can help with removing outdated configuration and/or removing a table that you are confident is not being used by another active table.  Select the table that you would want to identify the relationships for and select from the dropdown "Related".  This will update your Project Explorer with all tables that have a relationship with the selected table.

No, the only way to delete a table (or other document) is to open it up, check it out, select delete and check in.  

We do not have a simple multi-select / delete option due to the risk of causing unintended consequences in the model.  If you feel this is an important feature, please submit an Enhancement Idea via community.
