  • 1.  RDT 9.1, problem in activation of USB hardware device

    Posted Tue March 17, 2015 05:24 AM

    Hello,

I am having a problem in activation of USB hardware device, that I need some expertise to help me to step over.

I installed RHEL 6.4 on a virtual machine on VMWare vCenter Server V5.5.0.

I installed RDT 9.1 following the steps in "Installation and Sample Configuration Guide"(SC14-7281-06).

z1090instcheck returns good results, so I believe the installation is completed all right.

I then followed the steps in "Steps to activate a USB hardware device for version 9.1 or later" on page 16, but the last step (step 8) fails as follows.

Below are the logs. (I masked some unique information such as serial number)

    [root@maint3 bin]# ./Z1091_token_update -u /home/ibmsys1/RDT-xxxxx-201512092359-100CP-0I-0.zip
Info: Processing ZIP file request: /home/ibmsys1/RDT-xxxxx-201512092359-100CP-0I-0.zip
Info: Command completed with 0 error(s).
Info: Remove the token for 10 to 15 seconds.  Then reinsert the token before proceeding.

    Unplued and re-inserted USB device.

    [root@maint3 bin]# /opt/safenet_sentinel/common_files/sentinel_keys_server/loadserv restart
Stopping Sentinel Keys Server:                             [  OK  ]
Starting Sentinel Keys Server:                             [  OK  ]

    [root@maint3 bin]# ./Z1091_token_update -status
    Info: Processing Status request.
Error: Unable to locate ADCD-1 License.
Error: Unable to locate ADCD-2 License.
Info: Command completed with 2 error(s).

Could anyone please help me with this?

The USB device is already activated with RDT 9.0, and I am trying to activate the device with RDT9.1 now for the RDT upgrading purpose.

I am using the same license file.

(I don't know if it would be responsible for the situation, so I just note this information)

    I really appreciate anyone's help.

    Regards.

There are several peculiar things mentioned in this post.  Since we will likely need additional information, please open a PMR so we can track it properly.

    Hello, John.

Thank you for your quick response, and also please excuse me for my late response.

I tried again from the very beginning, which is the installation of RHEL, and it worked so PMR will not open.

I don't know what in specific caused the error, but I assume something was wrong with the installation of RDT.

Again thank you so much for your kind support.
