Hey Everyone - anyone out there using Pivotal Cloud Foundry and pulling that data into the model?

Hi @Ken Haniu - have you run into anyone using REST to get this data into Apptio?  We do not use Datalink (too many data changes - no value add at this time given that).  Thank you!

Hi @Jenny Franklin, I've actually been speaking with Pivotal along with our Business Development team to see what we can do for our joint customers. For one in particular (not sure if I can name them here so I won't for now), I believe we ended up going down the path of having Pivotal provide a utility that exports the data this customer wanted into a flat file that DataLink could retrieve. We discussed other options (such as REST) but this ended up being the most straightforward approach for this use case. @Shawn Gahr, could you check with the customer to see if they're up for an introduction?

In parallel, I will spin up an email thread between @Jenny Franklin, @Julie Batty and BizDev to see if we can get a conversation going with our Pivotal contacts.

    Ken

Hey @Ken Haniu, have y'all heard any more from the client using PCF?

Thank you - and sorry to keep bugging - we're hot on the trail w/PCF - eager to speak to someone who's mapped those costs in Apptio   I've looked in our GL YTD and am not finding any PCF expenses.  We have an "IF" (Infrastructure Funding) bucket and I bet those costs were rolled into that.  Not sure if that makes things more difficult to map.  We typically rate card that puppy to determine what percentage to send to servers, storage, network, etc.  Guessing we'd add a cloud percentage to the mix and ensure all the PCF spend was included and map accordingly.  Anyway, rambling, I'll circle back next month or so

We are just beginning to map PCF into Apptio, however the costs are not currently hitting our budget and are being moved now. When these come over i will see what i see and if i can help.

I'm coming into this thread late...but we've implemented PCF allocations into the R12 model we're building (with Apptio's help).  I'm light on the details of how the consumption data gets from PCF to Apptio; I can find out.  But other than that, I can share how we're modeling our PCF costs, both on-prem. and off-prem. (AWS).
