  • 1.  measures as rows in a Dashboard

    In Cognos 11.2.2 report studio we can use a crosstab and place a collection of measures as rows sliced by a dimension as columns. I can not seem to find a way to do that in the dashboard interface, am I missing something?

    Hi Bill,

    the only way I know is to put multiple measures in the "Values" field. There's no way that I know to put measures into the rows. Even calculations won't do it as you have to put a measure into the "Values" field.

    It is very similar, except the dimension is listed in first position. I was unable to duplicate the report layout in dashboard.

    Hi Patrick,

    You have the measures as columns, I need the measures as rows in the dashboard with no corresponding dimension in the row.

    Thanks for the question. This is not currently possible to do in a dashboard.

    We hear your need and we're working on it. This functionality is currently under development to be included in a future release of Cognos Analytics with Watson (no ETA at this time).

    Hi Bill,

    It's crystal clear to me. But the dashboard cannot show the measdus in rows as I mentioned above. Since this is a missing feature, even IBM support will ask you to create an idea in their portal, and I strongly recommend to do so. It may take a while until IBM respons to an idea but they keep implementing those into the product in the long run.
