Max CPU & Max User supported on zDnT 10.0

  • 1.  Max CPU & Max User supported on zDnT 10.0

    Posted Tue May 16, 2017 06:31 AM

    Hi All,

We have zDnT 10.0 with ADCD z/OS v2.2 installed on RHEL 7.

We referred the Hardware Requirement link for zDnT 10.0 as given below :

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSTQBD_10.0.0/com.ibm.zdt.install.doc/topics/hardware_req.html

We would like to understand what is max CPU supported on zDnT 10.0.

In the link, it is mentioned that "The hardware or virtual machine system must have at least 1 more PC core than the total number of z Systems CPs for all concurrently running zPDT instances. The number of z Systems CPs allowed for each instance is defined in the processor statement of the device map for each instance, requiring a minimum of 1 CP and a maximum of 8 CPs."

Does it mean an zDnT instance can have max 9 CPU (i.e. 1 CPU for Linux & 8 CPU for z System).

With average workload what is the maximum no. of users supported per CPU ?

    Regards

    Gautam

With 1 CP instance, you can have maximum of 5 concurrent users. With 3 CPs maximum of 30 concurrent Users. This limit may come down based on the workload zD&T m/c has.
