  • 1.  Labor planning - current staff

    Posted 07/27/15 06:38 PM

Is anyone using IT Planning's Labor Configuration to track budgeted amounts for existing staff?  If so, how do you identify the individuals when you are in the OpEx view?

I can easily identify the existing staff while I'm working within the Labor component - by Employee Name & Role, for example, but when I look at the data in OpEx, I can't see the identifiers for individuals.

Why does this matter? - Because, for example, I would like to eliminate or reduce healthcare, pension, and some other benefits for a few individuals.

Since in Labor Configuration,I see staff only at the Salaries level, I can't adjust those non-standard benefit amounts.  There are no lines for that data in the Labor Configuration view, although I can extract it.

In OpEx, I see all the individual lines but cannot identify which staff members go with each lines (except that I already know the correct amounts and can back into it hat way.)  There must be an easier way to make changes for individuals with non-standard benefit packages, right?  Any ideas?  Thank you!

@Ngoc Le, do you know if there is a way to do this today? If not, can we get it on the requested features list?

    Hi Sarah,

Currently the best way to track all of the labor line items together in the OpEx view would be to include the employee name or ID number in the labor Description column. The description column will carry over from the Labor tab to the OpEx tab so you can then group by description to see all of the different accounts for each employee.

I'll go ahead and create a feature request to be able to show the employee columns (like employee name) in the OpEx tab as well.

i've just posted a product feature request for this capability here. Please feel free to vote on this or comment on this if there are other items you would like to see addressed with this use-case.
