    The MIP executes for 30 min or so and then aborts with a Java.exe fatal application exit error and OPL must close. Does anyone know what the problem is and whether I need a different version of Java?

    You should report this to the CPLEX dedicqted forum qs it involves the mathematical engine and not the modeling layer.
