  • 1.  IT Planning: Error Configuring Reference Data

    Posted 10/23/18 05:59 PM

We are running R12 and trying to configure our reference data and we keep running into the same errors on different sets of data.  For instance, when we upload the Asset Class reference data, most of the data imports except for the Depreciation Account and the Purchase account.  The error we are seeing is: Could not resolve one or more references to another table: Account.  I'm assuming we're missing some sort of hierarchal relationship but I'm not sure how to solve this.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

@Chuck Krussel - Have you Imported and Published the Account reference data table?  ITP is checking to make sure the Purchase and Depreciation Accounts are valid accounts in the Account Reference Data table.

Thanks Rob.  We have updated the account reference data table but for some reason the Asset Class is not recognizing these accounts.  We've tried the accounts as numerical codes as well as text and made certain that the naming conventions matched.  I'm not sure what else to do at this point.

    HI Charles,

My suggestion would be to upload a blank file into the account and asset reference data in ITP, publish the blank files and update your reference data. Then start again with the account reference data and ensure your account reference data has the purchase and depreciation accounts in it. Publish that and then do the asset classes.

Sometimes starting again helps when there have been alot of updates.

Another thing to note is that you need to promote the data to production before importing to ITP (if you are using the integration)

Let me know if you still running into issues after the above,

    Lauren Griessel

Thanks Lauren!  We will try that.  I think the issue was that we hadn't published our Account reference data yet.  We weren't sure if we published it if we could later go back and publish a new data set or if it was permanent but from your message it sounds like you can publish more than one time.  Is that correct?

    HI Charles,

You would publish every time you want the new data to take affect. So the answer is yes, you can publish multiple times. The publish button is there in so you have a chance to review the data and ensure it is correct BEFORE making it available to all the plans.

    Thanks,

    Lauren Griessel
