  • 1.  Interactive Benchmarking Concept

We start using the Interactive Benchmarking and there are two questions that we cannot find a clear answer yet.

1 - Must we desconsider the Internal services in our Benchmark numbers?

2 - Based on "Benchmark Metrics Guide (attached file) in 4th page, we are presented to definitions, and the annual cost are defined by  Annual Cost – Annual Depreciation + Annual CapEx. However, it's not clear if we need to use the same criteria when input Towers and Sub-Towers numbers for Benchmarking. Must this concept be used for Towers and Sub-Towers?

    Thank you.

    Hi Pedro,

    1) Could you help me understand whether your question around Internal Services is for IT OpEx benchmarks or Infrastructure benchmarks?

    2) The definition of IT Spend = Annual Cost – Annual Depreciation + Annual CapEx is applicable to Industry Benchmarks onlyFor unit cost benchmarks numbers, Annual Cost is true cost that includes both OpEx & Depreciation (from your Cost Source object in CT) as shown by our ATUM poster here:

This part of the ATUM poster here shows the composition of each Tower and Sub-Tower. Each tower brings in costs from Cost Pools.

    Hi, @Akshatha Munikoti

    1) We were oriented to exclude Internal Services when we are talking about benchmarks, regardless if it's Industry, IT OpEx or Infrastructure. However, I couldn't find this written in anywhere. As you are helping us a lot in benchmarks questions, we felt comfortable to ask you about it. To make sure. Verifying this point, we cannot see Internal Services when we are in IT OpEx, as shown below:

Summarizing, We shouldn't use Internal Services in Benchmarks, Right?

    2) Is CapEx included in calcs by Cost Pool, Tower and Sub Tower? For example, in this image above, is CapEx there?

I don't know if I explained myself better now, let me know if you need more explanations.

    Hi @Pedro Silva,

That's correct. Please exclude Internal Services Cost Pool in Benchmarking application.

CapEx is NOT included in IT OpEx Benchmarks (Cost Pool & Tower) or Infrastructure Benchmarks (Sub-Tower). Annual IT Cost used in IT OpEx Benchmarks and Infrastructure Benchmarks come from your Cost Model in Cost Transparency which includes the following:

I hope this answers your question.

    Regards,

    Akshatha
