    Your problem could be related to an invalid .toc file in the directory holding your install files.

    Have you tried removing any existing .toc and running the inutoc . command?

    Looks to me like you have the wrong download or media for your update.

    Although you give no clue what level you are at we can see the system trying to pull in filesets with a base level of TL9 which has a build date of 0846 but the install is failing because your build date is 1015 / 1016 - nearly two years later.

    You'll need install or update media that is at you current build date or later to make this work.

    This means a base AIX fileset has a problem. Unfortunately, you can't just force an overwrite. To correct:

    1) From the closest AIX base CD, copy the necessary fileset on the server in /tmp directory. In my case, bos.net

    2) Downgrade bos.net.nfs.client wuth the FORCE option:

    # cd /tmp; installp -F -ac -d. bos.net.nfs.client

    Similar output shoule be dispayed:

    # smitty installp (select bos.net ALL FILESETS); only bos.net.nfs.client will be upgraded
    Installation Summary
