Install on OSX Monterey

  • 1.  Install on OSX Monterey

    Hello,

Has anyone been successful installing Anywhere 7.6.4 on Monterey?  I've got two new Mac's with M1 chips, and i have it installed and running on one that was restored from an older intel model and working on Monterey.  However after spending all day trying an install from scratch im stuck.  I can't restore to the new macs since they are client machines and need to be able to install.

I tried to follow the guide below but i cannot get anything to work....Does anyone have a guide i can use?
IBM Anywhere 7.6.4 installation fails on macOS Big Sur
    Ibm remove preview
IBM Anywhere 7.6.4 installation fails on macOS Big Sur
IBM Installation Manager version 1.9.1.4 fails on macOS Big Sur Version 11.1 - Mac mini (M1, 2020) with ARM chip or Intel chip. Because of this failure of the IBM Installation Manager, IBM Maximo Anywhere 7.6.4.0 installation cannot be completed.

    Nicky,

First I have not tried installing Anywhere on Monterey.  I don't think I am going to try either.  The development path for Anywhere is limited by virtue of the fact that Maximo Mobile is the newest version of mobility solution from Maximo from IBM.  I would suggest using a supported stable OS environment for your Admin build machine.  Using VMWAre Fusion you can choose your platform and be on you way in no time.  I would not spend any time trying to figure out an unsupported platform at this point.

I would also open a case and get official word from IBM support on what (if anything) is going to be done. Hope this helps.

    Hi Bradley,

I've hit the same issue.  I do so love iOS ;-)

However, we need to deploy the native app to complete our SSO integration.  So using VMWare Fusion is not really an option as all your doing to having to install Windows which will generate the APK and Windows App.  I've got a ticket with May On at the moment, but in reality, Maximo Anywhere is not going anywhere, especially as it's a current offering for MAS and Maximo 7.6.

The current workaround is to install into a Windows or Linux environment, copy the folders, install the supporting software and it'll work.  Clunky as you'll have to go into various properties files and change the paths.

Good news.  May On has a solution.  She will publish a technote once I've completed the installation.

    We done May!

    Hiya Craig!

You do know that crating a fusion VM does NOT require you to use Windows.  You can create any type of OS Machine.  Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, Mac OS etc. right? Run Nearly Any Operating System on a Mac ,and when you run Anywhere on your MacOS you can still create apk files with Mac version of Android Studio, if you need them. However, there is at this point really only two reasons to rebuild the binary: Push Notifications, and custom OS plugin features. Other than that NEEDING to build the binary is redundant. I am unclear as to why you need to rebuild the app for SSO.  All of what I have read on that, there is no need to rebuild the binary for SSO.  What am I missing?

    Hi Brad,

I needed to build native apps for SSO implementation as there is a bug in the IBM Cookie Master plugin. Simple typos to be exact in the plugin js files.

    Thanks,
