IBM SE), and I may well have missed something, but I basically mimicked what I
find on the 570's and again, the HMC's do see the 520, just no console.
Can anyone help "console me"?

the system must be in MDC (manufacturing mode), to exit out of it:

power off server
power on in stand-by
activate lpar : choose "exit the MDC" in activate options
