I mean, I don't want to set "autostart" to the partition profile. But in case, HMC hangs and the pSeries power on, how can I access the server so I can power on the partitions?

I've searched in ASMI, but I can't find the answer.

    Thank you all.

I've asked some working mates and everyone says the same. If your system is managed by an HMC ther is no way no manage that system but the HMC.

Neither you can install IVM without reset default config and erase everything on the system.

The ASMI way I was thinking of is not a solution. From the IVM redbook:

"The ASMI does not allow LPARs to be managed. To deploy LPARs, a higher level of management is required, going beyond basic hardware configuration setup. This management can be done either with an HMC or by using the IVM."

So what to do if my ONLY HMC crash?!
