  • 1.  Inference Engine - Does Column Names Matter?

    Posted 07/24/17 12:15 PM

Does the Inference Engine use Column Names or just he data type defined as "Key" and match against the values? Let us say if I have a column named as "ITRT to CWF Vendr Name Key" in the sending object and the receiving object has it named as "ITRT to CWF Vendor Name Key" and both are keys, does Inference engine still match the key columns and allocate cost based on weighting defined?

    Hello Srikanth Satakopan,

The inference engine doesn't care about column names... it identifies all columns that are marked as keys and exposed to inference, and compares the data in those columns looking for matches.

    Does that help?

    Cheers,
    Deb

Thank you Debbie! That is what we observed but wanted to confirm how it works under the hood. Appreciate your quick response!
