Increase Volume size in RDT for DB2

  • 1.  Increase Volume size in RDT for DB2

    Hi Team,

The DB2 volumes (HDDBA1 to 3) are having 3GB space. Is there a way to increase the volume size to 9GB.

I saw option to create new volumes and add to z/OS. But could find how to make DB2 to refer the new volumes. Is there a way to route the new log files and new table spaces to the new volume? Current I can see HDDBA3 is holding the ARCLOG1 file, once the HDDBA3 is full, system not able to allocate the log file.

I also see the file DSNDBD.DSNDB01.SPT01.I0001.A001 (SPT01) itself is of 11,925 Tracks. I see some notes in Google search that unusual growth of DSNDB01.SPT01 and there is a possibility of DB2 not releasing unused spaces from SPT01. Can you please guide us how to overcome this.

    Thank you, Gopal

    Gopal,

You'll likely need to queue this question to a DB2 forum.

Thank you John. Will post the question to DB2 form. Can you help with increasing Volume size in RDT. The volume is currently have 3GB in Linux box. Is it possible to increase the volume size to 9GB.

I understand its possible to create new volume with 1GB, 2GB, 3GB and 9GB space and make it available in z/OS

Is it possible to increase the existing volume space and make it available to z/OS? If so, can you please me the steps.

    Regards, Gopal
