I have a few recommendations to the Apptio platform next release(s) - if not yet designed/implemented (maily in CT, but they might be used elsewhere, too).

1.) make sure all grids show a total amount (per default). In the Model view frequently no total amount is shown, the user need to download the grid to see the total,

2.) implement/support scripting, Javascript should (like alert, confirm, etc.) be supported (for automation, e.g. moving data sequentially into transforms). When using a Button, a dialog message should be possible.

3.) make sure the search box is shown on every grid by default and edit/paste into it is enabled in every cases,

4.) make sure the Report finder and the report drop down (next to the home icon) are synchronized,

5.) improve messaging when batch processing is run on the background - data is calculated and pushed to other environments. The user should get an aler with an estimate,

6.) improve position and size for the objects on the reports. Why don't we always measure from the top left edge of the screen/frame?

Also, could you elaborate on what you mean by a "grid"? Are you referring to table views?
