Hi Helen
I'm fully across the standard pm sequence function
My sequence covers 9 job plans and results in a sequence with 168 steps in
it
The lowest frequency is 6 weeks ( or km equivalent) but the math falls over
when the long range major services are due
There is no forecasting at the moment as the kms vary day by day so the
users run an external spreadsheet to keep all in synch
I was exploring the possibility of splitting into two PM's one for the 48
week cycle using the 4 shorter plans and the second for the major services
which operate off an 18 month or 75000 km cycle
When I map this out a few of the majors ( not many) coincide with a minor
service
I know that Maximo does not support suppression between PM's so I wondered
how others may have addressed this as the tasks on the plans accumulate and
two work orders could confuse the users
The bonus of splitting them and shifting from meter to time based pm is the
ability to predict events with greater accuracy and provide long range
budget and forecasting using scheduler for the major services
Hope this explains the situation I'm considering
