  • 1.  FS-C200 VS IBMi

    Posted 29 days ago

Hello, I'm trying to determine if the FS-C200 can connect to IBM i in native mode and via direct attach. In the SSIC, it's listed under FlashSystem 9500; C200; 7300.

However, I'm still unsure, as it wasn't listed six months ago. Could you please clarify this for me?

    Dear Miguel

The info update on SSIC is not in real-time and its lag time can be inconsistent.

I found info from this web page: IBM i Power External Storage Support Matrix Summary at  https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-i-power-external-storage-support-matrix-summary.  It states that for Direct Attach, there are 3 considerations:

    Direct attach:
     - 7.5 or later SVC/Storwize firmware (This may not be relevant to FS9500)
     - There is no support for direct attach 8Gbps to 8Gbps
     - Direct attach is allowed only when Target Port Mode (NPIV) is in a Disabled or Transitional state
