I received the following error in my development environment eXtreme Scale Monitor today.
Some statistics for this view are not available because the number of data grids exceeds 10. Retrieving statistics for more than 10 data grids results in long delays. To see this data, reduce the number of data grids to 10 or fewer, or configure a user with authorization to monitor no more than 10 data grids.
I am running WXS standalone software 8.6.0.3 on red hat linux.
Currently I am creating a separate Grid for each application caching function. For example App1 I create app1Grid for DB side caching and app1SessionGrid for Session caching. I feel separating the Grids out gives more flexibility for support/maintenance. I have over a dozen applications that would like to utilize some WXS caching features.
Questions for others interested or who may have received the above error:
1) If Retrieving statistics for more than 10 data grids results in long delays for the monitor should I also expect that to impact the performance of applications utilizing WXS?
2) I don’t believe the eXtreme Scale Monitor allows you to create multiple users. If others have limited their 1 users view to less than 10 grids how are they monitoring the other grids removed from the view?
3) Is there a design / architecture recommendation that I am not following to avoid this? How are you creating Grids for multiple applications in WXS? Are you sharing Grids between applications to avoid this error?
Any suggestions or experiences around this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brett
