    have a P670 lpar running 5.3 ML04. It seems that the server rebooted itself. Here is part of the error message reported in errpt & console at reboot.

    You might have a critical error and need hardware support working on your problem.

    sysplanar is a fundemental part of your system.

    This Forum is not the sort of place for help:
    1) The forum is too slow for an answer
    2) Support has the tools to investigate the error report and sense data - the big block of numbers
    3) Highly specific to your machine
    4) You are wasting time.

    I guess the Forum could be used as a place to find out if this is a common problem but only AFTER its fix :-)

    Operating System error
    Platform Licensed Internal Code terminated a partition.

    If SRC word 3 is 0007, then a user may have initiated a function 22 prior to the operating system completing the IPL. If a function 22 was not performed, or if SRC word 3 is not 0007, look for other serviceable errors which occurred at same time frame.

    Your word 3 is 0007 so it looks like some one forced a dump from the O/S or the Op Panel or the HMC, either by powering off an LPAR configured to dump or the LPAR crashed and dumped.

    No indication of a hardware problem or any need to call support nagger.
