  • 1.  Delete of service specific analytics logs

    Hi ALl,

    Is there any possibility to delete the analytics logs based on API/service?

    We are using IBM APIC 10.0.1.5.

    Client wants to keep the analytics logs for high priority services and want to delete the other logs.

    As per our understanding we can delete to logs for specific dates, but not sure how to delete the logs based on services.

    For example when we are doing any sort of transaction we have to call the token service  to get the token first and then call the actual service by using the token.

    So logs are the combination of token service and the actual service and client doesn't want those token service as it occupies space.

    Please suggest, if any to resolve this.

    Once data is in analytics it cannot be selectively deleted. The only option is to delete entire indicies (the date based approach).

    If the client doesn't want to store calls from certain apis then simply change the log policy level for those apis to not send data to analytics.

    im afraid once it is in analytics there is no delete.

    Please make sure your client starts the steps to upgrade to 10.0.5 ASAP. 10.0.1 fix support has already ended and I don't think you can upgrade direct from 10.0.1.5 as it's so old so you need to go to a more recent 10.0.1 fixpack first.

    Can you please suggest how can we change the log policy level for the APIs to not send data to analytics.

    It would be good enough with example.

    For a v5c gateway use the activity log policy https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/api-connect/10.0.1.x?topic=policies-activity-log

    If using the newer api gateway then just change the activity log settings in the api in the api editor in api manager.

    Search for activity log in the docs and you should be able to find more info.

    Then republish the updated API.
