  • 1.  Date for Server Age

    Posted Fri August 31, 2018 09:50 AM

    Hi All,

I have now populated the date in my server Inventories and they are flowing through to my Master Data.

I now want to check the reports or graphs which are generated as a result but I am unable to find them in the OOTB reports.

    I am in R11

Can anyone help me or guide me to the report or reports

    Many thanks

Does anyone in the Community make use of the Server Age date?

    Paula,

I do not believe that there are any OOTB reports for Servers that would show the Age of the overall server.  I was just looking in a reference project and did not see anything.  However, this does not prevent you from creating any custom reports for Servers leveraging that Age that you've added to the Servers Master Data.

You could see some insights based on the Age of the overall server population within the CMDB data.  This could show you which servers are fully depreciated.  In addition to that it will give you the number of servers that could be in need of replacement or upgrades for Servers that may be out of warranty, etc.  Also, looking at old OS's that may need to be upgraded to a new version, etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

    Hi @Ryan Paul

Thanks for this information I really appreciate you taking the time out, however in the Configuration workbook which Apptio provide when you start your project there is an entry regarding 'purchase date' and if its not populated the table or graph is blank so I thought a OOTB report would have been created.

    Config Workbook for Servers

Thanks for the pointer on OS's, i have already created my own report and is on my to do list to follow through.

    Thanks

    Paula

    Paula,

I'm sorry that the configuration workbook states about the effect of missing is a Blank field or Chart.  I believe it may be an older copy of the configuration workbook as we've transitioned to the Data Advisor project.  I just double-checked that column in the Data Advisor project and for the report it had no effect.  Again apologies, but it may be an older copy.

    Paula,

I'd reach out to your CSM and see if they can download this for you.  I know in R11 it can be tricky to setup access

    Cheers,

    Ryan
