How do I know when the Benchmark data will be refreshed for H2 2017?

@Akshatha Munikoti is there a schedule available anywhere on community to get updates for when new data is available?

We plan to refresh Benchmark metrics twice every year - 1Q and 3Q - going forward. To that end, we are currently actively working on validating the data for H2 2017. We plan to have it available in the product this month. We will keep you posted on the exact date of the refresh.

@Akshatha Munikoti, I thought that it would refresh first to H2 2017and after to H1 2018. What months will we see after these update?

Hi Pedro,

Every data refresh contains data aggregated over a 2 year sliding time window. So, H1 2018 contains aggregated data for the last 2 years - 2017 and 2016. The H2 2018 data will contain benchmark data for H2 2016, H1 2017, H2 2017 and H1 2018.

@Akshatha Munikoti. What were we seeing in H1 2017?I've just receive a answer that we were seeing only Jan 16 - Dec 16. Is it correct? Are the last two years a new concept?

Prior to Interactive Benchmarking (2016 and prior data), Apptio provided single data point benchmark comparisons.

With Interactive Benchmarking (released in 2017), we revamped the product to:

1. Provide richer benchmark data set through benchmark distribution data that gives you the ability to compare yourself with median, best-in-class and worst-in-class benchmark numbers via the provided box plot 
2. Increase accuracy of unit cost benchmark data by changing scale computation model from step function to power function. Scale benchmark numbers show how economy of scale influences unit cost benchmark data

So, the 2 data sets provided after the release of Interactive Benchmarking - H1 2017  and H1 2018 -  both follow the new model to calculate benchmark data. Let me know if this answers your questions.
