    Hi all,

We are new to apptio and we are building the connectors using the Data link Classic by using the on-prem agents (non-prod and prod). is there a way to promote the connector from one environment to another environment without re-creating them.

    Hi Venkat,

I am not sure if you are still looking for an answer but posting as others might benefit out of this.

We are using DL classic in a multi project/environment setup and I don't think there is a direct way to achieve what you are asking for.
We maintain a table ( outside Apptio) which has all the attributes required by DL classic to create a connector and then using APIs we create the required connectors. You can get in touch with Apptio experts to guide you on how to connect & create connectors using API.

I believe that's the only way to do it in bulk otherwise we will need to create connectors manually.

Experts - Please add if I have missed anything.

You seem to be much more of an expert on this topic than I'll ever be, @Pranav Pathak!
We'll look into your suggestions and might reach out to you to get more details. Great reference!

@Venkateswara Rao Veerapaneni, I asked around and @Pranav Pathak is spot on - just wanted to get you confirmation.  So if you have a small amount, recreating is easiest; if large amount, Datalink Classic API is the way to go, but may take significant work to develop.
