  • 1.  CT Report Question

    Posted Sat October 22, 2016 04:18 PM

I would like a report that I can use to compare costs at the Cost Source Level with various other levels in the model like Vendor, Labor, etc.  The common field across all the Master Sets is "Charge".  Is there a way to pull costs from each of the various data set and compare them at the charge level.  Basically, I'm looking for a report with the following columns:

    (1) Charge     (2) Cost [from CSMD]  (3) Cost [from Vendor MD]    (4) Cost [from Labor MD] (5) Cost [from Fixed Asset MD]

    Doug,

What I would recommend is that you'd have to create a tabbed report.  What I mean by that is it can be all within the same report, but it will need to be separate tables due to the fact that we cannot group more than 2 objects together.

I would create one tab and you can call it Labor and do all reporting for Cost Source to Labor, then Fixed Assets, and then Vendors, etc.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi Doug,

What you could do is use the LookupObjectTotalAllocated OR LookupObjectTotalValue Functions within apptio. If you go into the help menu and search for them you will be able to see the difference in what the functions do but the just of it is that the first shows you the allocated cost from an object and the latter shows you the cost associated to that object on the model. These functions pull back the cost that is seen on the MODEL not what the charge coloumn is in your data so I may be wrong in suggesting this but it would be more accurate in showing what is allocated. You can pull these in for multiple objects as new function columns on the reporting surface.

Let me know if you have any question,
