We are using CPLEX11.1 and ILOG License Manager 2.7 for licensing. We are planning to upgrade to CPLEX12.1. I observe that CPLEX12.1 could work still without installation of ILM. Please let us know how licensing happens in CPLEX12.1. Is ILM installation not required when we work with CPLEX12.1

Note: We have access.ilm present in our drive and same path has been pointed from ILOG_LICENSE_FILE environment variable.

Please advice.

Version 12.2 is the current version of IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio, which includes the CPLEX Optimizer along with other features, so if you are upgrading I expect this is the version you'll want to use.

Version 12.2 does not require license keys, except for the version distributed under IBM Academic Initiative. Users are expected to abide by the terms of the license agreement.
