By the way, I used run as administrator option, too, but again the same error.
Would anyone please help me how I could get ride of?

I'm also trying to instal CPLEX 12.4 on Windows 8 pro (64). When I run cplex_studio124.win-x86-64.exe the installer starts (InstallAnywhere is preparing to install...) and once it reaches 100 % I get exactly the same error as Saber. I tried version 12.2 and the same happens.

Thanks, that was the right thing to do, now it works.
However I must say that it didn't work the first time even in Windows 7 compatibility mode. First time it froze during the installation ("installing... uninstal.exe"). I restarted my computer and ran it again, and it worked fine.

In the case the installation then freezes, you should remember that even with the right compatibility you need to run the installation as an Admin. The reboot is no viable solution in this case.
