I downloaded the access.ilm file into C:\ILOG|ILM and set the environmental variable ILOG_LICENSE_FILE to the C:\ILOG\ILM folder.

Cplex still won't read the license. I can echo %ILOG_LICENSE_FILE and it returns the C:\ILOG\ILM folder. When I use the command type C:\ILOG\ILM\access.ilm it displays the license info in the command window.

I have checked in the command window that access.ilm is not really access.ilm.txt, and used rename to change it back and forth a few times to make sure.

Cplex did read the license file one time, and then with no reboot, and no changes, never read the license again.

I have tried changing the location of the access.ilm to different folders and resetting the environmental variable, no luck.

I have reinstalled cplex, no luck.

I have redownloaded the license, no luck.

I don't know what else to try.

I want to be sure that it happens at the DOS prompt and not just in the IDE.

If that's the case, the only thing I can think of is to attach the license file here so that someone can look and make sure there are no funky characters in it.

Yes, the error occurs at the DOS prompt. I don't use the IDE, as the program I am using with cplex uses the DOS prompt.

I just opened two command prompts (one to show the license, another to show the error) to take screenshots of the error, and even though I haven't touched anything since I first posted, now cplex reads the license.

I don't know what is going on.

I just worry that this will happen again tomorrow.

    Hope this helps.
