  • 1.  Cost Drivers in V12 reports

    Posted Mon July 24, 2017 07:23 AM

    Hi,

I'm trying to re-create an ad hoc V11 cost driver report in V12. I've attached an image of the V11 query configurator.  In V11, the cost drivers can be selected from Values.  In V12, I've been unable to find them?  Has anyone else attempted this in V12?

OPTION 1: All drivers in one table (one driver per row)

(top) Ribbon > Report > Table.

(left) Project explorer > Tables > Applications > Drivers: Drag to Rows.

(left) Project explorer > Metrics > Cost: Drag to Values.

OPTION 2: Select individual drivers (one driver per column)

    (top) Ribbon > Report Table.

(left) Project explorer > Metrics > Cost: Drag to Values.

(top) Ribbon > Data > Insert > Insert formula column.

(center) Modeled value: Locate entries ending in (Cost).

Thanks for taking the time to respond!  It is definitely option 2 that I need to pursue, but we're having some technical difficulties in achieving the result.  [We get an 'Error' when the formula column is introduced].  Fingers crossed that Support can resolve!

    Hi Gareth Latham,

Great to see you out here on Community!  I see @Chris Davidson has already provided a detailed response, but I couldn't resist saying hi.   I'm getting excited to watch the games in just a couple weeks.  Still going to CF regularly!  I hope you are as well.

    Hello,

I was wondering if you were able to get the Year-to-Date function to work with the Driver Name as we encounter an error.

    Thank you for any insight.

    Hey @Dawn Kassube

You can only use the YearToDate function with metrics, so to use that function with a driver you would need to create a metric that is defined via the driver that you want to use in the function.

Your other option would be to define the driver like @Chris Davidson shows above and then drag the Year To Date option from the Time Section under Project Explorer into Columns in the Ad Hoc Component Configuration where you are creating your table (shown below).
