I'm trying to allocate costs from one object to another on the model, what I need to do is allocate all costs using data-based reference but where there is no project code. How could I do this?

The assignment ratios show that the costs are going to all towers using the database reference (there's about 14 tower combinations these costs go to) however I don't want any of these costs going to those with a project at the towers object.

The way I would look at this is to alter the key on the IT Resource Tower object so that it invalidates the linkage.

The easiest way would be to add in the project ID into the ITRT_Cloud_Key Metafield. That way the cloud key would not match the key on the Cloud object, and costs would not flow to those items.

Thanks Michael, I will give this a try. I'm already adding the application to the ITRT_Cloud_Key Metafield so might integrate it with that.

Not sure of all the deets, but we've used Use Map Tables in the past for stuff like this - one route will go where there's a project # reference - then it'll go another route (cost center or other) if no project # exists.  Love UMTs

I keep hearing about Use Map Tables but haven't used one yet. Will look in to this as an option

I decided to add a formula that to the appended Projects dataset (this is appended to the ITRT Master Data to allow the project IDs to be carried through to towers).

I used an IF formula so if there isn't a project code then enter "_null" as the ITRT_Cloud Key Metafield otherwise leave as is. This has worked and stopped spreading costs to all tower combinations.
