Hi my CT experts,  I have a question for you.

I have a situation where I could really use a copy of my transform (not a standard transform).  However, when I do it, it creates an empty table, with no rows, no columns, nothing in it.

Has anybody done this and actually got a true copy of the table that they can work with?

Hi @Goga Moore I have the same issue when copying it defaults the Transform Type to 'Raw Backing Table of ...' so the opposite of what we're after!

When you say that you've created a transform, is this the way you went ahead and created a transform ? The below mentioned step creates a new table which is based off the existing table, ie with the new columns added.

You can also create a copy of the table at the Import step also. This is, if the case is where you want to have a copy of the table loaded into Apptio without the new columns added in:

thank you for that.  But what I have is a transform that I created in order to do some data filtering etc. 

Now I need almost the same transform with some minor changes.  Creating a standard transform from it won't work because I actually need to be able to change some data filters on it and when you do that those are not available to you.

So copy would work great because I would have the same transform I can then modify how I need to.

Hmm, Yeah, I think this is lacking in R12. The currently available option in R12 "Table off Existing Table", is I believe the "Create a Standard Transform" option that we had in R11. 

I believe this should be a feature in their upcoming releases.

You're both right.

In R11, "Create a copy of the selected transform" only works in certain cases (depending on whether the source transform comes from raw data or from another transform).

In R12, we don't currently have a way to copy a transform with all of its pipeline steps to a new separate table. We can copy the results of the source table's pipeline steps, but not the steps themselves.

According to the support this is a known issue in R11 and feature works fine in R12.
