  • 1.  Cognos Analytics Glass UI - Functionality Gap

    Posted Fri October 06, 2023 12:11 PM

Two basic functionalities missing in Cognos Analytics Glass UI which are available Cognos earlier products ( till Cognos 10.2.2). IBM should focus on UI gaps between new and Legacy UI and should cover same. We still use legacy UI because of these gaps.

    1) Click on Name/Modified should sort the content. This is basic feature available in every product

    2) Icon should reflect default report output type.

This list may be bigger but these are things obvious when you first opened glass UI.

I think the best course of action for you is to add these (and any other) changes you think are valuable into the Ideas portal, then get your friends and colleagues to vote on them.

We can add idea if its new feature, but if something exists in old version and missing from new version, this should treated as feature gap.

I see some most voted ideas sitting there for years :(

I get your frustration - there are a few places where the C10 interface could be thought of as superior to glass. I think Glass is a case of 2 steps forward and one step back. And there have been big changes in Glass - it's now even more like C10 than in its original conception.

As Mark said - submit the idea, it's the only way of feeding back how popular a piece of functionality is.

Sorting is available in Glass though...

(Although FM packages are sorted completely different to other content)
