  • 1.  CA 11.7R1 error when configuring FM client

    Posted 11/03/20 04:57 PM
I'm recently install CA 11.1R7 with FP1, Cognos Server work fine, but it's not possible to configure FM access to server.
When I test my configuration I have a message :
    [Subject Alternative Name test]
    [ERROR] null
and impossible to finalize my install. The same problem at one of my customers who upgraded to 11.1.7 from 11.1.5 version.
    I'm using FQDN everywhere & realy I don't understand.

    Someone can help me ?

The "Subject Alternative Name" part makes me thing this is an ssl secured system.
If so, did you import the intermediate and root certificate into the Framework Manager keystore?

Also connect to the CA gateway with a browser, click on the padlock to see the certificate details, and in the second tab scroll down to an entry called "Subject Alternative Name" and verify that the fqdn you are using in FM Cognos Configuration matches an entry in there.

A bit of a long shot , but it could be that the error is a false flag.

In that case I would try to clean the encryption on the FM installation side, before trying to press save again.

Are you setting up as administrator? "Run as Admin" option

    Czesc Tomasz,

In my configuration (Windows 2019 Server) "run as admin" solved my problem. The first effect was strange - non steps on validation  dialog box, but it's the end result that counts. But I think it's a bad idea to use FM on 2019 server.
About my customer - I'm waiting for him to be available to take the test.

    Thanks

    Hi Jerzy,
Can you try adding in the unqualified name into the SAN ->DNS Name entries (in Cognos Configuration) as a test?

Edit - Sorry, missed your last post.
    Thanks,
