  • 1.  Cognos Analytics 12.0.4 IF3 installer for FM

    as per checking the latest available files in IBM passport advantage are the installer, ca-srv, and transformer.
    Does anyone know if CA 12.0.4 IF3 comes with ca_client ?The one that has the installer for Framework Manager.

    Hi FA,

    The installer for CA 12.0.4 IF3 is the installer version v3.7.38. You just need to copy all the .ZIP files (ca-srv, client, transformer) in the same directory, then run the installer.

    For 12.0.4-BA-CA-Win64-IF003, only the following files are available:

    • analytics-installer-3.7.38-win.exe (234.48 MB)
    • casrv-12.0.4-2504170500-winx64h.zip (7.21 GB)
    • transformer-12.0.4-25041710-win32.zip (441.89 MB)

    So it seems there is no client.

    So there really is no ca_client for Framework manager. Just a bit strange, ever since upgrades and other fixpack or IF they have ca_client included to maintain the same level/versions across all components.

    If the Interim Fix (IF) is created to fix security issues (such as Java issue) in the core components of the server, there is no need to update the client (assuming it is not affected by this Java issue).

    I did end up engaging with IBM support to have an official statement. And they provided that there really is no ca_client repository for this Interim Fix and that any version of Framework manager from 12.0.4 should be working.
