  • 1.  Assistance Required on Integrating IBM APIC with WebSockets

    Dear IBM Engineering Team,

I trust this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your help regarding the integration of IBM's API Connect (APIC) with WebSockets.

I am currently working on a project that requires real-time communication between the server and the client. As per my research, I understand that WebSockets provides full-duplex communication channels over a single TCP connection. This method could be beneficial to my project.

However, I am facing difficulty in establishing the connection between IBM APIC and WebSockets. I am unsure of the steps that need to be followed to achieve a seamless integration.

Could you kindly provide me with a detailed guide or any available documentation that might help me understand the process better? Furthermore, I would also appreciate it if you could provide examples of some use-cases where IBM APIC and WebSockets have been integrated. This would help me better understand how to apply it to my project.

I hope to hear from you soon regarding this matter. Thank you in advance for your help and support.

    Best Regards

Thank you for your recommendation on the blog post regarding WebSocket APIs in API Connect. I took the time to read through it and even attempted to implement the design as described, but unfortunately, I'm still facing issues. It seems that the solution provided doesn't quite address the specific problem I'm encountering.

I would appreciate any further guidance or insights from you or the team. Please keep me informed once the team has had a chance to review my question.

Thanks once again for your assistance!

Could you provide more details about the problem you are encountering? If you need to get into debugging specific that is really for a support ticket but if you can give us more details to provide a response.

To try to preempt some details, If you are trying to do a direct ws or wss connection with API Connect that is not supported. We do support the HTTP/s to WebSocket Upgrade path as described in the blog. The backend service that you are connecting to must support the WebSocket upgrade request and not just a direct WebSocket request.
