Hi everyone,  we are beginning our TBM journey and would like to hear from others as to how they use their Project and Portfolio Management Tools and APPTIO for reporting up and down.  We are using DAPTIV currently as our PPM.

Great question! It would also be interesting to understand what the types of people in your organisation that use native PPM vs Apptio for project reporting, and how people see the value of the project reports over PPM for ease of use and the combination of cost and non cost metrics

We use Planview as our PPM tool. The value proposition we have is "let us know what you (the PMO) would prefer to enable in Apptio and we will do it". As a consequence there are duplicate features we deploy in Planview (ignoring Apptio) but a the end of the day we automate the PMO function with a combination of the tool features since no single tool can solve for all.

• Our PMs live for the most time in Planview, and come to Apptio to see the drilldown on their project actuals
• The PMO rely on Apptio for a number of exception reports, data feeds for actuals (to Planview) and we're looking at portfolio planning reporting in Apptio
• CC Managers and Service/apps managers come to Apptio to get project data at a high level
• Project operational expense (once a project is implemented) is managed in Apptio

We have a number of data feeds, weekly and monthly, from Planview to Apptio via datalink 

Juan José Jarillo - are you able to share how you've set up a datalink connector between Apptio and Planview? We've just implemented Planview and want to integrate with Apptio (ITPF preferably)

We use Planview, as mentioned by Juan, no one tool has all the required features.  Liked Juan's bullet points on the roles, activities and values from each tool.  It is would great to see the overall end to end flow and handshakes between Apptio and Planview
