I am building a dashboard that my segment directors can use. I want it to be dynamic and have nice supplemental graphs/charts, etc. But I also want to be able to print out some of the information in a table form as a PDF, but a lot of times, fitting everything onto one screen in PDF is tough without taking up a lot of screen real estate. so I kind of want to build the 'dashboard' version of this report and then have a 'printable' version. Has anyone done this? Do you make the printable version a separate report or a tab/child of the parent? I want any slicer/filter information on the dashboard to apply to the printable version.

Hi Kyle.

I have built a printable version of a report before. All I did was create a new report, did not add it to any collections and in turn only accessed it from the carrot next to the home button:

You can also add visibility rules to it so only you can see the report and in turn your users will not be able to access it and get confused as to why a duplicate report exists.

To create the report I just copied over all the elements from the parent report and tweaked them to be printable.Therefore you can keep all your filters/slicers etc.

To add to Lauren's idea, you can add a drill to your parent report that directs you to the secondary "printable" report. When you build the drill, you can choose "Current Report Context" and "Slicer Selection" and it will apply all your filters and slicers from the parent report to the secondary report and it will be readily printable with the slicers and filters applied.

Or if you want to keep the navigation more simple, you can add a button that just directs you to the secondary report that's in the printable format, where as Lauren said the slicers and filters can be applied again.
